Jessie Che Music Biography
Lead Vocalist, Business Manager ~ Jessie Che Band

  • Graduate of CMAA College of Country Music 2006 (Tamworth)
  • Grad Certificate in Tourism (Festival & Event Management) 2003 (Flinders Uni)
  • Diploma in Commercial Music (Performance) 2001
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Music (Performance) 1999

Jessieís interest and love of music was inevitable and unavoidable, coming from a long line of musicians. Jessieís Grandparents were session musicians in Londonís Swing/Jazz era in the 1930ís, 40ís & 50's (playing and with artists such as Stephan Grapelli, Cleo Laine & Johnny Dankworth ). Jessieís Father is a professional drummer whoís UK career highlights included touring with artists and bands such as Shirley Bassey, Steve Winwood, The Who, The Yardbirds, Traffic and The Foundations.

To ensure she learnt the language of music correctly in 1998 Jessie declined a position at University studying Science (and much to the dismay of her parents) enrolled herself in the Commercial Music (Performance) course with Vocal as her major instrument. This intensive learning experience ensured a solid grounding in all areas of commercial music from business & technology to correct vocal technique and performance etiquette. Jessie successfully graduated in November 2001 with the Certificate IV and Diploma in Commercial Music (Performance).

Through the contacts made whilst studying Jessie took the initiative to establish the original line up of the Jessie Che Band. Over a three year period the Jessie Che Band had much success on the music circuit in South Australia gaining wide exposure. It was with much sadness that Jessie disbanded the original line-up of the Jessie Che Band for a two-year stint in Queensland as an Event Coordinator. In late 2004 Jessie decided to return home to her roots and upon arrival to her hometown of Adelaide the primary goal was to re-establish the band and again perform.

The year of 2006 has already been an extremely busy year for Jessie. Most of January was spent in Tamworth at the Country Music Festival. This included attending & Graduating from the CMAA College of Country Music. Building on the experience of Tamworth, Jessie is immersed in writing and recording the initial stages of the debut album for the Jessie Che Band and fulfilling performance commitments.
